Snapchat

A Snapchat profile link is snapchat.com/add/ followed by their username, for example snapchat.com/add/olena_k. It’s a profile link, and you type the name.

A Snapcode, the yellow square with Snapchat’s ghost and dots, isn’t a QR code, so met.cards can’t read it. Ask for their profile link and paste it.

On an iPhone or an Android phone:

  1. Open Snapchat and go to their profile.
  2. Tap Share profile and copy the link.

Then they send you the link, and you use Paste a link. Apps move these screens between versions. If the steps don’t match their app, look for a QR code icon on their profile or in their settings.

Last checked: not yet on a phone. These steps follow the app’s own help and may differ in their version.

met.cards shows the Snapchat icon and their handle, and asks for a name: “Snapchat codes share a profile, not a name. Add their name so you can find them later.” Save works once you’ve typed one.

  • Their Snapchat profile, under Profiles on their page, with Open in Snapchat.
  • The name you type. Add their company, title or email later with Edit.

met.cards doesn’t fill in the name or photo from Snapchat, and nothing is planned. Type their name.

  • met.cards shows Snapchat contact. A snapchat.com/t/ link is one only Snapchat can open, so it’s saved as a link only. Select Type their name or Photograph their screen.
  • Their Snapcode doesn’t scan. A Snapcode isn’t a QR code. Ask for their profile link and use Paste a link.
  • Nothing happens. Ask them to turn their screen brightness up, and tilt your phone so their screen doesn’t reflect the lights. Or take a photo of the code and pick it with the gallery button in QR mode.
  • You already have them. As you type their name, met.cards suggests people you already have whose name matches what you typed, under Already in your connections? Select Add to on the right person, for example Add to Olena Koval, to add this Snapchat profile to them instead of saving someone new. See When you already have them.
